About Payday Loans Scarborough

Payday Loans Scarborough is a free loan connection service for people who live or work in Scarborough. We explain what a short term loan costs under Ontario law, and when you apply we pass your application to licensed Canadian lenders. We are not a lender, we do not make credit decisions, and we never charge you.

What this site is

This site is one guide, written for one place. Every page is about borrowing in Scarborough: the storefronts along Kingston Road and Lawrence Avenue East, the shift patterns at the hospitals and the plants off the 401, and the Ontario rules that set what a payday loan can cost. We wrote it because most loan sites treat Toronto as one city and Scarborough as an afterthought.

The pages cover the payday loan itself, the installment alternative for anything over $1500, borrowing with bad credit, e-transfer timing, the broader personal loan, and the cash advance searchers ask about. Each page carries its own cost table, so you can see the number before you see a form.

How we earn money

We earn a referral fee from a lender when a loan funds. That fee comes out of the lender's side, never yours: it does not change your rate, your fee, or your repayment. If your application does not fund, nobody pays anything. That is the whole business model, and it is the same one behind most loan comparison sites in Canada.

Because we are paid on funded loans, we have every reason to send you to a lender that will actually approve you. We have no reason to push a loan you cannot repay, since a loan that goes into collections earns nothing and costs the lender.

Who runs it

The site is run by an independent Canadian publisher that operates a small number of local loan guides, each on its own domain. The people who write and check these pages are not lenders, brokers, or financial advisers. We read the provincial statutes, the regulator guidance, and the lender agreements, and we put the numbers in plain tables.

We do not publish reviews, testimonials, or star ratings, because we do not think a stranger's five stars tells you what a $300 loan costs. The cost table does.

What we hold ourselves to

  • Every fee on this site follows the current law: $14 per $100 borrowed on a payday loan, a $1500 maximum, and 35% APR as the federal ceiling on other lending.
  • We describe approval as income based and never promise it. No lender in Canada can promise approval before seeing an application.
  • We name the roads, the employers and the pay cycles of Scarborough because they change how a loan fits, not to fill space.
  • We link to the Ontario statute, Consumer Protection Ontario and the Financial Consumer Agency of Canada so you can check us.
  • When something on the page changes, the "last updated" date at the top changes with it.

What we are not

We are not a lender and we do not hold a payday lender licence, because we do not lend. We do not collect your banking details on this site. The application you reach through the apply button is run by the lending platform we work with, and the lenders on that platform hold the licences. If you want to confirm a lender's licence before signing, the Consumer Protection Ontario registry is the place to look.

If you have a question about this site, the contact page explains how to reach us and what we can and cannot help with. To see the application step by step before you start, read how applying works.

How Payday Loans Scarborough makes money: paydayloansscarborough.ca is a free loan connection service, not a lender. When you apply, we match your application with licensed Canadian lenders and earn a referral fee from the lender if your loan funds. This never changes your rate or costs you anything. We do not make credit decisions and never charge borrowers. Cost examples: a $300 payday loan for 14 days at $14 per $100 costs $42 in fees ($342 total, about 365% APR); payday fees are capped at $14 per $100 in every province except Quebec, to a $1500 maximum. Personal installment loans range 18% to 35% APR over 3 to 60 months. All lending is subject to lender approval and provincial rules.
